An example of EV providing both a DVD video production package - and a bespoke engineering solution

Coastal Voyager needed a high-energy DVD to promote their sea and river trips off Southwold and up the river Blyth. They also need the capability to provide customers and corporate guests with a video record of their own Coastal Voyage trip.

To shoot Coastal Voyager in action, EV mounted minicams aboard the vessel, shot ship to ship (at speed….) put a survival-suited cameraman into the sea with a waterproof camera, and put another cameraman aboard an aircraft. Music was especially commissioned to compliment the high-speed action.

EV permanently rigged self-switching minicams aboard the RIB, feeding a ruggedised water-proof recorder (Powerboats and RIBs are notoriously difficult applications for minicam technology, involving intense vibration, potentially unstable power supplies and salt-water).

The skipper can record pictures of individual trips, hand the tape over to his office on entering the harbour and have a complete DVD - including pre-shot and edited documentary sequences as well as the footage from the day - ready to hand to clients by the time they have berthed and taken off their life jackets.
